Speakers, Screens and More

Our A/V guy was hard at work this evening getting everything ready for the premier tomorrow of the house audio. We're also indebted to the electricians for getting the screen hooked up. It's fun to see it finally drop out of the ceiling after setting that thing up in the dead of winter. The plumbers got the pressure control valve in place and also put in the water softener. The carpet guys are nearly done and should be finished tomorrow. The hardwood floor guy got the cap ends finished and he'll be finishing out the floors tomorrow night. The painters did most of the exterior doors and got various holes patched. Now if it'd just quit raining we could get the concrete poured...

Glass, Carpet and Other Shiny Things

The glass co enclosed the shower on the main floor (aka the decon shower), as well as installing the door to the master shower. The carpet layers got all the bedrooms with the exception of the master finished. The electricians did some work installing lights and outlets downstairs. The plumbers decided they needed to dial down the pressure in our system and so ripped out some wall to expose the mainline. It may be to our advantage to have this done outside, but we'll have to find out from the city if this is possible. Meanwhile, the hot water heaters and softener were installed. The main hardwood floors were uncovered, and our hardwood installer was getting the stair caps all figured out this evening.

Cabinets Finished, Carpet & Cement Begun

More pretty pictures. The downstairs hearth is actually darker black in person, but the flash tends to lighten it quite a bit. The cabinet makers finished most of the install today, with just a bit of adjustments and touch up to be done tomorrow. The carpet layers got the carpet cut and in place on the upper floor. The concrete guys poured the back walkway, and lower stairs. Our low voltage guy was working away this evening, getting things downstairs squared away.

Cabinetry, Painting, and Forms

Nice to have a gaggle of workers on hand today. Our cabinet makers spent the day working away at getting all the cabinetry finished. They did a lot of beautiful work - hence the many pictures. They'll be back Wednesday to finish up. The painters primed the ceilings downstairs. The carpet layers prepped the floors upstairs. (Then we cleaned them up for family night.) Our concrete contractors formed in the stairs, and the cut was made for the driveway. Our low voltage installer also showed up to test all his wiring upstairs, and get things ready for the downstairs. Whew!

Downstairs Walls Colored

Our painters were able to get the downstairs walls painted as planned today. So it's priming the ceilings tomorrow and finished ceilings on Tuesday - with the other tradesmen allowed downstairs later that day.

Balusters Unveiled

Though not entirely finished, it was a pleasure to see the balusters all in place. There will be some touch-up work to be done on the railing which had shifted at the joints in the process, but it's fixable. The painters were working away at getting ready to paint colors downstairs. They also started distributing the doors on the upper floor back to their rightful places.

Lotsa Finish

With a full crew of electricians plenty got done. For the most part all the fixtures (sans the entry chandelier) have been installed on the main and upper floors. It was nice to see the home lit up tonight. Our finish carpenter and low-voltage guy were still there working... Patching the many popped screws downstairs took the painters' day. No concrete so no other outdoor work. One picture shows the master shower on, as the plumbers got the cold water moving in the house - with plenty o' pressure (yea!).
