Gravel Leveled

Finally got the piles of gravel leveled into the driveway and garage. Fun to take a stroll on...

Movin' Dirt

Yesterday Wayne moved the piles of gravel into the garage. It's almost filled to the rim, and will only need a bit more, which Dad/Grandpa arranged to have delivered later today. In the last picture you can see 6 more loads ready to be moved in and around.

Floored Basement

Today we had the concrete poured into the basement via the pump truck (as you can see), and the floor very nicely, and smoothly finished. Also delivered were several more loads of reject gravel to get the garage area filled in. We're hoping the framers to show tomorrow along with the floor trusses...

Basement Leveled

Got the rest of the reject gravel (course sand) leveled off in the basement, and Parkers Sand and Gravel dumped a few more loads of gravel. Dad/Grandpa figures we've got ten more loads to go. Good thing it's dirt cheap!

Backfilled

Most of the backfill for the basement was spread around with the help of the two Grandads and the Holyoak boys today.

Plumbing the floor and more

Today the Houselys finished the drains in the basement floor. We've also got the temporary power inspected, hooked up and ready to go. And we've got big piles of sand and gravel ready to move to the basement in preparation for the basement floor being poured.

Pipeworks

Houselys got a good share of the plumbing (drains) in the basement done today. There are a couple of places that they've yet to finish. These two pictures show the stub offs for the "pool room" and the guest suite bathroom.

Dump that rubble!

In the famous words of Oliver [ed. note: Samuel informed me today that this was actually his saying first - and since he has the video to prove it, with humblest apologies] and Samuel, reading that Byron Barton classic

"Dump dat wubble!"

See for yourself

The Saga Begins

This is the beginning...

Sort of, actually Grandpa Hancock has the beginnings and we could conjure up some more pictures from him, but I'll try to add something each day some progress is made...
