Closets and Doors
Stephanie wanted some modificaitons made to the master closet - and here they are. Also completed were some of the door casings and baseboard on the upper level.

Gutters Galore
We were so glad for the installation of the gutters today. And none too soon. The dripping down the house has now led to silt seepage and mud in the basement room. Hopefully with the gutter in place we wont have to worry about this anymore. When spring comes in earnest we'll have to find a way to seal this off. The marred window was replaced. Baseboard was installed in the girls room, as was the shelving for the closet. And finally, the garage was painted. Despite many worries, when the paint actually dried it looked more than okay - it actually turned out quite nice. (Perhaps nice enough to use elsewhere in the house).

Trim, Paint and Vents
The HVAC crew extended the basement furnace air intake through the deck, the sheetrock-turned-painting crew got the primer coat on the garage, and our finish carpenter got some nice work done. It's fun to see how the trim headers for our doors and windows so closely match the window headers on the outside. I don't know that we can claim to have done this consciously, but it's fun to see how that works out. (I guess at least our taste/style remains consistent). We'd wished to have some gutters installed to forestall another flooding of the basement - but maybe tomorrow...

Closets and Garage Work
Master closet had some shelving placed and trim work tacked in. The garage had it's (I think) final coat of mud today. It was left hotter than a greenhouse with enough CO and CO2 to sting the eyes. We turned down the heaters and let it air out, and all is better now. Also got a little drain put into the cold air intake line to the furnace
downstairs in hopes that the condensation wont kill the furnace anymore.

Finishing Some Things
While yours truly spent some time this morning figuring out why our furnace wasn't working the sheetrocking crew was hard at work. We got the furnace working again, and the sheetrocking crew not only finished up a lot of the smoothing of the walls downstairs, they also finished the whole garage! They're truly amazing. The HVAC crew finally got the final fireplace installed. Our finish carpenter began hanging doors, and they look great. We're also finalizing the plans for flooring so that can be ordered within the next week.

Post Wrap Up
Not a lot "new" to be seen today. The framing crew did wrap the posts below at the house and also installed the railing at the ends of the deck. Our sheetrocking crew was hard at work as ever, and will be finishing up their work at the end of the week. Sounds like they'll actually be getting to painting the garage early next week.

Superb Sheetrocking
Today I wanted to show off the great work of our sheetrocking crews. Their great work is best evidenced around the windows, with beautiful crisp lines - no bumps, dents or lines. We really appreciate their good work. The doors and trim were also delivered today to the upstairs. It was fun to see our mirror door, and the various closet doors in place. I also took some time to meet with Uncle Ray to finalize our orders for flooring. We'll need to order soon to get this in on time. Hooray - and on to the finish (carpentry).
