Basement Wall-ed In
Another great day of work by the sheetrocking crew. Looks like they got the majority of the basement finished in 1 day! Also, much to our collective relief our framers began work on the deck. We're hoping that this proceeds as quickly as the interior work. We'll be starting the interior finish carpentry in 2 weeks, and then it'll be short work until the end!

Two Down One to Go
Despite the fact that it was Saturday, our faithful crews were working away. Sheetrocking on the main floor and upstairs are virtually done AND they even cleaned up almost all the mess! Our master electrician was back again to help get another conduit in place down in the family room and finish digging out the pesky trench to our main power box. They did end up running into another buried line (as attested to by the picture) but it should be deep enough now to get the power inside (we hope).

What a difference a week makes
Sheetrocking moved on down to the main floor, with all of the upstairs now finished and only the entry walls undone, it's amazing what can happen in a week! Also completed, but not pictured were (hopefully) the last of the little things to actually get main power to the house itself, and some siding trim work outside.

Attic Insulated, Trim, and Walls
When I walked into the house tonight I wanted to take my coat off. That's the difference an insulated attic makes I guess. Lots of sheetrocking going on, as well as some siding. Enjoy (we certainly are).

Siding, Shutters & Sheetrock
See for yourself - the shutters and headers on the east and west ends sure look nice - don't they? Also some sheetrocking going on (the team doesn't move nearly as fast without their leader though).

(Sheet)Rock On!
Today we had lots of hard workers at work. A picture of the Dads/Grandads was in order for their hard work playing fixit with our floor trusses for the better part of the day. Also to kudos to the sheetrocking crew who managed to do an amazing amount of work in only one day. The garage now has a ceiling, the kitchen/gathering room, as well as the front rooms. Furthermore, we've included a couple of pictures of the boys in their respective rooms. Not shown was the "girls" room which is also now finished. One of the framers was around to work on the uneven stairs, and the siding crew was working away as well. We've included a picture of their work on the east side. Tomorrow, a replacement window (or two)?, garage doors, more sheetrock and fixed stairs...

The Lid is On
We are so glad to have our sheetrock contractor working! He's been itching to get going, and that's really helped us to get all the other pieces in place to let him get to work. And work they did. Today he and his team got the entire ceiling on the second floor ("the lid") in place. That means that the insulation contractor can come in tomorrow and get the insulation blown into the rafters. For those of you who are following along, I'm calling the room above the garage our "attic", and if you don't like it - tough. The insulation guys did blow the insulation between the floors today as well. Our framer put up the header support on the garage so the doors can be installed, and our sheetrockers will hopefully get the dry wall up in there tomorrow so we can have the garage doors installed on Wednesday. The siding contractor got some more done on the the east side of the home, and the excavator filled in around our footings for the deck. He also managed to cut the extension cord powering our furnace, so I had fun tonight replacing that and getting the furnace going again. Never a dull moment...
