Railing delivered

Today a new (undamaged) railing was delivered. Not much else... well, as Stephanie reminds me at least the cabinets are being worked on...

Stairs Nearly Capped

Well at least they were stained today, along with the wood being put down. There's still some minor edgework that needs to be put in place, and the finish lacquer put on, but we're close - very close. Now it's just a matter of waiting for the cabinets...

Yardwork and Edging

Today while the sun shone our landscaper came by and cleaned up (at least in part) the mess left from our late November excavation and snow pushing. We were glad for his help in getting the neighbors' lawn back into a more presentable state. Inside our hardwood floor installer didn't make a lot of visible progress, but his truck was there all day. Pictured is one edge of the balcony that was placed.

More Stair Caps

The work in his dad's shop paid off. Today saw the installation of the caps along the straight edge of the stair, as well as the staining of the endcap.

Tiles All In

Today marked the finish of the tile work. Only a bit of cleanup left and then our tile setter is completely done. Our hardwood guy was also at work, but off-site at his dad's shop.

C-A-B-I-N-E-T-S spells PROGRESS!

After what seemed a long time waiting the kitchen, children's study and mudroom cabinetry has arrived. The colors are great, and the workmanship impeccable. We also saw some progress on the stairs, and the setting of the last tile downstairs. Next week our finish carpenter will start in on the final touches, and then painting follows...
